Twitter seems an excellent example of imbalance and urgency conspiring to create a model of dysfunctional democracy. Many small utterances primed for reception by their popularity purify discourse by emphasizing the impact of the already known and/or already famous… the followed, the favorited, the re-tweeted flourish, while the neoliberal exile, abject, and subaltern are pushed further from the center.
