Moving “back and forth” between media is a plausible account of the origins of “electronic literature,” so called, and one that might be worked through (by creators and critics) going forward.

Twitter seems an excellent example of imbalance and urgency conspiring to create a model of dysfunctional democracy. Many small utterances primed for reception by their popularity purify discourse by emphasizing the impact of the already known and/or already famous… the followed, the favorited, the re-tweeted flourish, while the neoliberal exile, abject, and subaltern are pushed further from the center.
